PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This is a pre-professional program designed around an interdisciplinary major with study in life-span human development, life sciences and psychology. The focus is on the physical and psychological development of the individual from conception to death. Theoretical study concentrates on functions of cognition, emotion, perception, social, moral and spiritual aspects of people. Students completing the major will be strongly encouraged to pursue graduate study in a variety of areas including: psychology (clinical, developmental, school, health, research); medicine and related health areas; and human services (delivery systems, health care policy formation, agency administration.) When coupled with appropriate studies in religion, students may qualify for admission to seminaries.

SAMPLE INTERNSHIP PLACEMENTS
Warner's Developmental Psychology majors have completed internships in physician's practices, private practices of clinical psychologists, hospital administrative departments, governmental bureaus, and at Oregon Health Sciences University.

SAMPLE CAREER/GRADUATE PROGRAM PLACEMENTS
Psychology majors have excelled in graduate study at Lewis and Clark College Counseling Program and the Law School, George Fox University Counseling Program, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Fuller Seminary Counseling Program, Ball State University Counseling Program, University of Kentucky School of Medicine Neuroscience Research Program, and Springfield College Sports Psychology Program. Several other graduates are also in medical school, and graduate programs in public health.



FACULTY
John Fazio, Professor of Psychology; Ph.D., The Fielding Institute. A former counselor in private practice, Dr. Fazio has also pursued special studies at Oregon Health Sciences University. In his free time, he is an avid woodworking specialist.

Louis Foltz, Professor of Education and Psychology; Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley. Dr. Foltz is a workshop facilitator, public speaker, church consultant and watercolor artist.

Phyllis Michael, Chair, Department of Social Science; Associate Professor of Human Development; M.S., University of Kansas; M.A., University of Missouri, Kansas City. A certified Family Life Educator herself (and grandmother of two exceptional children), Professor Michael also serves as a seminar leader, church/business consultant, and marriage enrichment facilitator.
