Presentation

The program at Rancho Santiago Community College District is designed to acquaint the student with all aspects of health and wellness. In addition to exercise, the student is introduced to classes that support an active mind and body. Curriculum content may include nutrition, health awareness, sports medicine, kinesiology and physiology as they relate to exercise.

The student can take advantage of the quality facilities provided by the Rancho Santiago Community College District. There are two gymnasiums, an aerobics room, a wrestling and self-defense room, a weight facility, two circuit training/cardiovascular centers, a swimming pool, ten tennis courts and an all-weather, all-purpose track. Rancho Santiago also has two of the finest, state-of-the-art fitness analysis centers. This facility provides test assessment of resting and stress (treadmill) ECG’s, percent of body fat through skinfold measurement and hydrostatic weighing, flexibility, strength and full panel blood chemistry.

The following classes can lead to obtaining a degree in the areas of exercise science, sports medicine-athletic trainer, physical therapy, kinesiology, coaching or sport/fitness related vocations.
