Liberal Studies (BA) - San Diego campus

Program Overview
The Liberal Studies major is a two-year degree completion program which prepares students to enter a teacher education program, such as the one offered in the Graduate School of Education at Alliant, which infuses the curriculum with multicultural content, the latest instructional technology, mentoring of diverse student populations, and comprehensive community service. A new program is under development which will focus especially on preparing future middle school teachers of English and math.

In addition, the Liberal Studies major allows students to adapt their education to a variety of paths other than teaching. Students can choose a concentration from any of the majors offered at Alliant, including business, communication, international relations, and psychology. All of these concentrations emphasize a strong professional practice approach which includes substantial practical, hands-on training in the types of internship opportunities more often found in graduate programs.
